March is women’s month<\/i>, so we want to celebrate the contributions and achievements of women in all areas of society. We aim to honor the memory of some of these remarkable women through our various themed rooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

ZOMBIE LAB<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The goal of our Zombie Lab<\/b> is to find a cure to stop an army of the undead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This room reminds us of Elisabeth K\u00fcbler-Ross<\/i>, a Swiss-American psychiatrist and one of the pioneers in studying thanatology. Her work On Death and Dying<\/i> defined the five stages of grief for those facing imminent death. She was named one of the One Hundred Most Important Thinkers<\/i>, received nineteen honorary degrees, and was inducted into the US Women\u2019s Hall of Fame<\/i>. Later, she focused her career on researching out-of-body experiences and seeking ways to communicate with the dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, we\u2019ve got some undead for you, and you\u2019re going to need all of Elisabeth\u2019s wisdom to make it out alive!<\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n

PRISON BREAK<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In our Prison Break<\/b> room, we remember Deborah Gavin<\/i>, a young woman who found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time in 1972.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She ended up sharing a car ride with two young men she had just met, who planned to commit an armed robbery at a gas station. After a daring police chase, they were arrested. Deborah was convicted as an accomplice and sent to a women\u2019s prison in Georgia, where she became a victim of ongoing sexual abuse by guards. This led her to attempt escape five times, though she was caught shortly after each. However, the sixth time was the charm\u2014she regained her freedom and started a new life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MADRID CENTRAL BANK<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Madrid Central Bank<\/b>, our bank room, introduces you to the next protagonist: Olivera \u0106irkovi\u0107<\/i>, a European basketball star and sporting director of Red Star Belgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But what connects us to her is her past as a member of the Pink Panthers<\/i>, a network of thieves responsible for jewel and luxury goods heists worth $500 million across 35 countries. \u0106irkovi\u0107 was involved in over 350 robberies, some so spectacular they\u2019re worthy of Hollywood movies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you have the wit and cunning of \u0106irkovi\u0107 to be part of the most impressive heist?<\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n

COMING HOME<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our game Coming Home<\/b> features a small, adorable robot named Gregg, a precursor to today\u2019s computers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this game, we pay tribute to Grace Hopper<\/i>, considered the mother of computer programming and creator of COBOL<\/i> (common business-oriented language), the first complex computer language. Hopper earned a PhD in mathematics from Yale University and taught the subject until World War II broke out, when she joined the Navy. The Navy sent her to Harvard, where she worked as a programmer on the first high-capacity computer. After the war, she created the first data processing compiler, paving the way for coding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will you be able to follow Grace Hopper\u2019s footsteps and bring little Gregg back to life?<\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ZODIAC KILLER<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In our Zodiac Killer<\/b> room, you\u2019ll have to escape the clutches of a serial killer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What better way to honor two incredible detectives? Stacy Galbraith<\/i> and Edna Hendershot<\/i> caught a serial rapist who terrorized women in Colorado and Washington. Galbraith was investigating a rape case in Washington. The victim\u2019s testimony, along with clues and evidence, matched closely with Hendershot\u2019s investigation in Colorado. They began working together and discovered similar cases with the same modus operandi<\/i> in at least four other cities. They were facing a serial rapist. Together, they managed to discover and arrest the culprit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BUNKER<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our Bunker<\/b> room brings to mind Flora Sandes<\/i>, a British woman who surprised the world by becoming the first woman soldier in the Great War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sandes began by joining the St. John Ambulance unit, a British aid convoy to the Serbian front. Later, she joined the Serbian Red Cross and worked in an ambulance with the 2nd Infantry Regiment, spending most of her time on the front lines. With the country nearly overrun and on the brink of defeat, Sandes decided not to return to England and enlisted as a private soldier. She was awarded the Star of Karageorge<\/i> for bravery in action, the highest military honor from the Serbian government, and promoted to sergeant major.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve made a brief tribute to women in history, but the list is endless. Every woman, anonymous or famous, has contributed to history. A history that tends to erase the great advances made by women.
