What is Fox in a Box?

Fox in a Box by Room Escape is a themed real-life escape room game where players use the elements of a room to solve a series of puzzles, find clues and achieve a mission within the time given.

How many games are there?

There are a total of 8 rooms divided in two different locaitons. 2 of them are in Calle de las Infantas 25 (Bunker and The Zombie Lab); the other 6 are in Calle Ancora 12, local (Life Sentence x2, Zodiac Killer x2, Mastermind and Golden Nugget Saloon.) Keep in mind that, althoug we have 8 different games, there are just 6 different themes.

How much does it cost?

Fox in a Box's prices start at 21€ per person and vary depending on team sizes. Please, have a look at bookings to find out more. Also, be aware that Fox in a Box is a live event and therefore once the booking is confirmed, refunds are not accepted. We accept all major credit cards or bank transfers.

Can I change my booking date?

Yeah! If you let us know with more than 72 hours before the day that you are coming to play, we will give you a voucher for the cuantity that you've paid when you did the booking, so you can use it on the following 3 months. You can also get an insurance that alows you to change your game up to 5 minutes before. We don't do refounds in any case.

Age limits

Each member of the team must be 15 years or older to play on their own. Younger children can play only when accompanied by their parents.

Team sizes

Team sizes can vary from 2 to 7 people. We don´t recommend 7 players in Mastermind or Golden Nugget. In case that you are more than 7, you can book one of our double rooms (Prison Break or Zodiac Killer). That way you can compete not only against time, but also against your friends!

Can children play the room?

Escape rooms are very enriching family activities. However, the rooms can be a little too complicated for the little ones, due to the difficulty of the puzzles and the settings, such as the Zodiac Killer or the Zombie Lab. Nevertheless, all children under 15 can enter if accompanied by an adult. In case that at any time the kids don't want to keep on playing and would like to get out of the room or even not to play at all, they will always have to be with a adult. As for the price, 5-year-old children or younger do not pay entrance fee, while children from 6 to 9 years pay 5€ less (since they can participate and enjoy some of the puzzles.) Kids with 10 years or older pay the same as an adult.

At what time do I need to arrive?

If your game is Bunker or Zombie lab, please, arrive on time for your game. That means the same time as your booked slot (have a look at the emails we sent you in case of doubt). If you come way before, you may have to wait outside while the other groups are leaving the premises.

However, if you are playing Life Sentence, Zodiac Killer, Mastermind or Golden Nugget Saloon you should come 15 minutes before the booking hour, It's totally fine if you arrive early because you can always wait for the time of your game at our Spoiler Bar. Bear in mind that if you come 15 minutes after the booking hour we should cancel your game.

What room should I play first?

Our games are complex, but not impossible! In case that you have never played an escape room game before, we recommend our wonderful Bunker or Mastermind, although this does not mean that they are easy. In Fox in a Box we love challenges! On the contrary, if you think that you are experts escapists, we recommend you to try our Zombie Laboratory or Golden Nugget Saloon!

Can we pay separately?

Unfortunately no, you cannot pay separately. If you have only paid the reservation cuantity, you will have to pay the remaining quantity at our place all at once. That quantity will vary depending on how many players come to have fun with us and you can choose to pay either with cash or card.

I want a discount!

Said and done! In Fox in a Box we love making life easier for everyone. If you are an university student, use the code FOXESTUDIANTES and you will get a 15% discount (but be sure to bring your university ID). These codes are valid from Monday to Thursday (except holidays) and are not cumulative with other offers.

Fox in a Box is an excellent choice for corporate team building. Your teams will have to work together, use logic and creativity to overcome problems. It is the ultimate team-building event. Here at Fox in a Box we take care of ad-hoc events for our customers, drinks, catering, teambuilding activities, monitoring of the games, etc. Let us know your needs and one of our experts will produce the right schedule-estimation for you.

Do I need a good level of Spanish / English?

In Fox in a Box we can carry out our games in English and Spanish. It is true that once inside the room you can speak any language. But for the introduction, in which we give instructions about the game, and for the interaction with our Game Masters during the game, knowledge of English or Spanish by at least one member of the group (and, if possible, by all players) will be necessary. Remember this, it could be very important for your game.

Accessibility and special requirements

Life sentence, Zodiac Killer, Mastermind and Golden Nugget Saloon are rooms with some puzzles that persons with reduced mobility wouldn't be able to play.

In our Infantas street place (that holds our Bunker and Zombie Lab) it's based inside an old building, therefore there is no wheelchair access to it . Pregnant women can fully enjoy the games, as they are not physically challenging and there are no fear factors involved (well, the Zombie Lab is... zombie). There are also seats in every room we have so that players can rest for a while if needed.

How to get to us?

We have two different locations in Madrid center:
Bunker and Zombie Lab are located at Calle Infantas 25, 28004. Right in the heart of Madrid. Own transport: Undergound parking 50m away. Plaza Vázquez de Mella. Also available on the street with parking meters. Underground: Gran Vía Station or Chueca.
Life Sentence, Zodiac Killer, Mastermind and Golden Nugget Saloon are located at Calle Ancora 12, local. Underground: Palos de la Frontera

What is the neighbourhood like?

Chueca neighbourhood, where our Bunker and Zombie Lab are, is located in the center of Madrid, a couple of meters away from Gran Vía. It's surrounded by pubs and restaurants where you can find everything from traditional bars to great roof top terraces. Then, there's Palos de la Frontera neighbourhood, close to Atocha, also very well conected and with a fun enviroment. And, as a plus, if you don't feel like going out to another place, you can always have a drink at our bar! However, we must inform you that the escape room activity is not compatible with alcohol. Therefore, in case of excessive use of it within the group, we may be forced to cancel your game without a refund.

Are we really locked in the rooms?

Fox in a Box has taken room escapes to the next level. In our Bunker, Zombie Lab and Mastermind you need to complete a specific task within 6 the time given, so the main door is actually unlocked the whole time. But, in Life Sentence, Golden Nugget Saloon and the Zodiac Killer rooms, the doors are blocked because of the theme of the game. Nevertheless, those rooms have panic buttons that can be pressed in case someone needs it. Claustrophobic people can enjoy our games and leave at any time if they choose to do so. We have had many claustrophobics but our games are so much fun that they never want to leave! People with medical conditions can also visit the restrooms during the game.
